IPO

-by Ida

Myspace is about exhibitionism, self-absorption, and self-promotion.

It’s blatantly apparent from your profile that you WANT to be seen. You WANT to scream out “world, take a look at me, I’m fucking brilliant”. The myspace limit of 300 pictures is not a limit for you; you upload 300 more to photobucket and post them on your profile. You are one clever cookie!

So why, WHY, is there this goddamn trend of “privatizing” one’s profile and monitoring comments via the comment approval mechanism?

I want to see how fat you’ve gotten. I want to see who you’re dating. I want to criticize every notable detail. It makes me feel magnitudes better about myself (“bwahahaha, she put on 218 pounds, while I gained only 217. Stupid bitch, I hated her in High School”)

Please honeybuns, I beg of you. Go Public.
